Bring on 2016!

A concert reading January 15-16.

After a wonderful holiday visit to Ohio, I’m back in Quincy ready to begin work on our outstanding 2016 season!  I can’t believe I’ve already completed my first season here, and I look forward to the projects that lie ahead.

I’ll be back in schools this week, teaching acting workshops as part of QCT’s outreach program.  At the theatre, I’ll be pulling double duty in rehearsals for two shows!  First up, I am playing Lady Windermere in a concert reading of Lady Windermere’s Fan: A New Musical.  I adore workshopping new material, and it’s been a real treat to explore this story as a musical!  Performances are in our lab theatre January 15-16.

Rehearsals are also underway for the first student theatre production of the year: Shrek TYA.  I am a huge fan of both the Dreamworks film and the Broadway musical, so I’m very pleased to be directing this story for QCT.  I have a stellar creative team and a cast of 28 talented, enthusiastic student actors!  This show also has a full-sized dragon puppet and a hint of Beyonce choreography.  Performances are February 5-7; it’s going to be quite a show.

The new year and the new season have a lot of great productions on the horizon.  I’ll be directing Totally Red, The Halloween Trilogy, and A Wrinkle in Time on the QCT stage.  I’ll also be working with Quincy Junior High School’s Drama Club as they devise their own play about superheroes.  In Triple Threat Boot Camp will be back in August, and of course I’ll be leading more fantastic acting classes.  How fortunate I am to have all of these wonderful things going on.  I can’t wait to get to work.
