Bio

Kelsey Celek is a director and teaching artist currently based in Dayton, Ohio. Some of her favorite directing credits include Tarzan (an ASL-integrated production), Elephant and Piggie’s “We Are in a Play!”, and Stellaluna.

Kelsey has led classes for students ages 3-adult, covering topics such as acting, musical theatre, puppetry, and devised theatre.  Kelsey has also designed and implemented arts integrated curriculum for the classroom.  In 2018, Kelsey was named Outstanding Fine Arts Teacher of the Year by Arts Quincy of Quincy, Illinois.

Kelsey has had the pleasure of working with students across the country through the Missoula Children’s Theater, the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, Town Hall Theatre, Children’s Performing Arts of Miamisburg, Quincy Community Theatre, and the Omaha Theatre Company.

…the Affiliate Relations Manager at Destination Imagination, an international organization dedicated to teaching creative problem solving to young people around the world.

…a playwright, whose work has been produced by the Human Race Theatre Company, Secret Theater, Cincinnati Playwrights Initiative, Artists Without Limits, Tip My Cup Productions, and She and Her Productions.  Kelsey’s one act musical, Zander (written with composer Andy Roninson), was presented at part of the 8 Minute Musical Festival in New York City.
