I’m so thrilled to share that this week I finally got to return to in-person teaching for the first time since the pandemic began. I am leading sessions of Acting Level 1 and Acting Level 2 at Town Hall Theatre.
It’s a wonderful full-circle moment for many reasons. I participated in a few Town Hall shows as a child, plus one of my first jobs in TYA was performing in their tour of The Brave Little Tailor. Mostly, though, it is a relief to get to work with students in-person once again, and guide them towards their own love of the performing arts. I left my classroom space after this first week feeling a little sweaty (teaching in mask is wild, y’all!) but like I’d been reintroduced to an old friend.
Special shout-out to my supervisors at Destination Imagination, who made it possible for me to flex my work hours so I could take on these classes. They have been so supportive of finding ways for me to keep my teaching skills sharp.
I look forward to learning and sharing more with my spring session students!
