Act One: One Act Play Festival

Greetings from Syracuse!  I’ve been working hard among a group of 12 talented teaching artists as we assemble and teach Screen-Shot-2014-09-09-at-11.55.31-AMarts-infused curriculum in the Syracuse City School District.  Right now I’m using modern dance to cover topics like teamwork, weather, addition and subtraction, the food chain, and the water cycle.  It’s a very exciting program.

I’ve also had the pleasure of working on some of the Red House‘s shows.  I was the assistant director for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, which closed this weekend after getting rave reviews.  Next week I step into rehearsals as assistant director for The Penguin Tango.  Never a dull moment here in Syracuse!

Act-One-2014_img_clkThis weekend I’ll be stepping back into NYC for a new project – the Act One: One Act Play Festival with The Secret Theatre in Queens.  One of my one act plays, The Laundry Room, will get four performances in this competition.  This time around The Laundry Room stars Elise Williams and Jimmy Stewart (yep, that’s his name) and is directed by Andy Saladino.  There’s an audience vote to determine who moves on, so be sure to get your tickets and help me out!  My play is in Group A, which performs on October 2, 10, and 15 at 8pm, plus October 5 at 2pm.  Hope to see you there!
