Well now I have bid the Showboat Majestic a fond farewell. I had such a great time working on this show. Thanks to everyone who came out to support us!
Now that the summer is winding down, it’s time to take a look at some of the projects I’ll be working on this fall –
Miscast: September 18-20 in the Jubilee Directing Lab Theatre.
Miscast is a concert where each actor performs a role he or she is completely wrong for. For example, I get to be Usnavi from In the Heights. It’s incredibly fun to see everyone get to try something new. Besides, this show is a fundraiser for the Jubilee Directing Lab Theatre. The Jubilee is Wright State’s student-run theatre, and great, unique shows happen there pretty much every weekend. Definitely worth supporting them! Interested?
Nerd Fun: October 31-November 1 at the Jubilee Directing Lab Theatre.
Nerd Fun is the debut of my cabaret act. Main topic of the evening: whether or not being a nerd will benefit me in show business and in life. I’ll be singing lots of my favorite songs – everything from Gershwin to Sondheim to Bucchino. And some of my friends will be there for fun duets! Basically, I get to channel my inner Broadway diva for an evening of showtunes and geekdom. Come see it!
The Pajama Game: October 29-November 15 in the Festival Playhouse at Wright State University.
The Pajama Game is the 1954 Adler & Ross musical about workers in a pajama factory and their pursuit of a 7 and 1/2 cent raise. I’m playing Mabel, one of the secretaries. The Pajama Game has a lot of songs you’ll know – “Hey There” or “Hernando’s Hideaway”, for example – plus you just can’t say no to a show about pajamas. It’ll be fun. More information here.
Looks like I’m up for a busy quarter. More events to come!
